Rediscovered remainder of the FLYING SKULL album from 1991 ! Original 90s pressing !
The origins of the Cologne band FYING SKULL go back to the end of 1980. In the early years, the five released two demos (THE FIRST FLIGHT; 1986 and YOU ARE MY FAN NO.1 at the turn of the year 1988/89) and are also represented with two songs on the compilation LP GERMAN METAL TRACKS VOL.5.
In 1991 the band self-produced the first full-length album DARKNESS. This decision is made because they only want to rely on the support of the fans and not on thousands of dollars from the music industry behind them. According to the band, heavy metal is not just music, it also means rebellion and freedom. Under no circumstances they want to be part of the industry and its mechanisms that are always the same. Even a contract offer from Teichiku Records, one of the most important metal labels in Japan, is turned down. All sales are through gigs only, with the support of fans, magazines, fanzines, a Japanese record store and (later) distribution by Semaphore.
1993 follows the second long player REVELATION, again self-produced. In addition to the sales channels already practiced with DAKRNESS, this time they are looking for a ”professional” distributor who should be able to place at least a few copies in record stores. And so they agree with Semaphore on a pure distribution contract. Both albums are still sought-after and traded collectors items.
