This recording is a compilation of works for guitar that have marked the performers artistic development. From baroque and romantic music to Spanish works with influences from the flamenco tradition and Latin American pieces with traditional rhythms. It is called "Murales", which is also the name of the central piece on the album. This piece was composed and dedicated to Eduardo Rodríguez by the Mexican composer Jean Angelus Pichardo. Three pieces for classical guitar have been recorded for the first time on this disc: Murales by Jean Angelus Pichardo, Latino Dance by the Argentinian Jorge Morel, and Fantasía sobre un tema de Manuel de Falla by the Catalan composer Feliu Gasull.
Eduardo Rodriguez is a Mexican guitarist currently based in Salzburg, Austria. He began his studies in classical guitar in his hometown, Zacatecas, and then continued in Mexico City. He completed his masters and postgraduate studies in music performance at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Eduardo has always been influenced by the folklore of his country and the music of Latin America, with its various dances and rhythms. Of course he has also immersed himself in the classical guitar tradition. And likewise, he has always been open to new musical proposals.
