Lyn Conary's third selfmade studio album "Anything But Your Truth" is a raw testimony of a large emotional scale. The DIY artist collaborated with a small list of first-class musicians who helped raising her sound to the next level.
Lyn wrote all the songs for "Anything But Your Truth" between 2006-2011. Her third selfmade studio LP is as dark as its forerunner "Through the Dark", in terms of sound even harder, and the lyrics are emotional as ever and ruthlessly honest. Conary writes about feeling powerless, domestic voilence, disappointments and unrequited love.
However, in between all the rock songs, the album comes with two beautiful piano ballads (Is this Love?, In Your Hands) and a few alternative pop songs with spherical (Nothing in Return), folky (When We Look at Each Other) or even bluesy (Sinners) influences as well as the Celtic Rock track "In the Shadows".
The production of the album took more than two years and for the first time, the DIY artist collaborated with a small group of befriended first-class musicians: Irish Singer/Songwriter Colm Egan, the German guitarists/producers Elmar Heckmann (Heckmann Sounds) and Herb Bucher (Herb Bucher Productions) as well as German guitarist Mathias Haase delivered most of the electric guitar parts.
Peter Wachter plays electric bass on four of the tracks and Albert Dannenmann (ex-Blackmore's Night) enchants the Celtic rock ballad "In The Shadows" with bagpipes, the fife (transverse flute) and the hurdygurdy.
Lyn had the album professionally mastered by Attila Tapolczai, New Home Recording, Augsburg/Germany.
"Anything but Your Truth" is an emotional feast for the senses - Lyn Conary closes a dark chapter of her past, with a firework full of poetry und catchy melodies. And despite the elegy and brooding undertone, Lyn wants to bring hope to those who had comparable experiences and let them know, they are not alone.
